Little Birdy Book Blog: What inspired you to start writing?
Lady J: I have always been a story teller. Those who grew up with me have heard hundreds. I finally decided to sit and write one night while the family was sleeping. It was just supposed to be an idea. I ended up writing three full chapters. I haven't stopped.
LBBB: How long did it take for you to write your first book?
L.J.: I just finished my first, it took a year. I had another job at the time and only got around to writing at night. I took my time because I fully enjoyed the process.
LBBB: How do you come up with ideas for your stories?
L.J.: They just come to me. Usually at really odd times, like my daughters dance class, the grocery line... lol.
LBBB: What is your writing routine like? Do you have a set schedule or are you flexible?
L.J.: I am VERY flexible. I have to be, I live in a circus! Three kids, two dogs, and a hubby in a pear tree. I usually pop in my ear buds at night and go to town.
LBBB: What inspires you to write?
L.J.: The never ending stories and ideas inspire me to write the story. (They yell at me if I don't.) My family and friends encourage me to actually sit down and do it. And to FINISH it. I love my boss pushy Peeps.
LBBB: Are any of your stories written from personal experience, or any character traits that mirror yours?
L.J.: I have snuck in a few personal experiences in the book, those who have been through them with me, know it when they see it.
There is no one character that has all my traights or personality. They each have a little bit of me in there. But, for the most part they have their own personalities, habits and quirks.
LBBB: When in a slump, what do you do? If you read or listen to music, what are your go-to books or music?
L.J.: I listen to music. My go-to music depends on the scene I'm trying to write. If it's a sad scene I use a collection of melancholy tunes on pandora. If it's a fight scene... Rock alternative etc etc.
LBBB: How do you respond to negative feedback/comments with your work?
L.J.: I haven't hit publish yet. I'm still a newbie. But, I look forward to feedback from my Betas and editors, and critique partners. I love to tell stories, and I love to write but, I know I need help perfecting the craft. Feedback helps me grow. I want to get better.
LBBB: What is your writing space like? Do you work anywhere or do you have a special place just for your writing? Messy or clean?
L.J.: I love my hubby! He moved the dining room so he could make my very own read/writing nook. I have my desk, my bookshelves, two comfy chairs, and a huge window for my inspiration. I love it in there.
P.s. When inspiration does hit... The room is a disaster!! The notes are everywhere lol.
LBBB: Do you have a favorite author? Series?
L.J.: My favorite book is Swan Song by Robert McCammon. I read that novel when I was very young and it stuck with me. Picking a favorite author or series, on the other hand is too hard, there are soooooo many to choose from and not enough coffee to help narrow it down.
LBBB: Any fur-babies?
L.J.: I have two fur babies.
Geno, a red boxer. He's the nickel headed clown.
And Bones, an Australian Cattle Dog (blue heeler) he's the smart one.
They both make live so entertaining and fun!

Author Bio:
In west Philadelphia, born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days. Chillin' out maxin', relaxin'... Just kidding!!
I am an author currently working on the release of my debut novel. Forever Marked is a romantic suspense, and the first book in a series.
I grew up in Upstate NY, but my heart belongs in Arizona. If given the chance, I'd gladly trade in frost burn for sun burn! I met and married my handsome husband, and the proud mother of three girls, plus two fur babies.
I grew up causing all kinds of trouble with my twin sister and partner in crime. My wild over-exaggerated story telling grew along with my love for reading. With the support of my hubby, and the encouragement of my womb mate, I put pen to paper, letting my imagination take over.
