L. Chapman: I have always liked writing, I use to write poems as a child. As I grew up, the more books I read, the more I wanted to try myself. So I did.
LBBB: How long did it take for you to write your first book?
L.C.: It took about four months. I was too scared to press the magic button.
LBBB: How do you come up with ideas for your stories?
L.C.: The believe series came from just one fictional girl 'Megan'. I just sat and see what happened.
Healing (due out 2015) Came from real life experiences.
LBBB: What is your writing routine like? Do you have a set schedule or are you flexible?
L.C.: I write when I can, I work full time. I normally write on an evening time, my brain is more active on a night. I always have music on in the background while I write.
LBBB: What inspires you to write?
L.C.: I love to write. I write for myself and my 'fans'.
LBBB: Are any of your stories written from personal experience, or any character traits that mirror yours?
L.C.: Healing is linked to a personal experience. Part of myself is in Keisha.
A lot of myself is in Megan from the Believe series. My more sweet, calm, organised side.
LBBB: When in a slump, what do you do? If you read or listen to music, what are your go-to books or music?
L.C.: Music always helps me. Or talking to my Friend / PA - Jen. She seems to always get me out of it. Nothing better than talking out everything with someone.
LBBB: How do you respond to negative feedback/comments with your work?
L.C.: I always read any feedback and take it on board. Every piece helps an author to grow. I still have loads of growing to do.
LBBB: What is your writing space like? Do you work anywhere or do you have a special place just for your writing? Messy or clean?
L.C.: I always write in a clean space.Laptop, Blanket, water and that's about it.
LBBB: Do you have a favorite author? Series?
L.C.: I hate this question, I have lots of favourite ones.
JB McGee, Krissy V, Samantha Fontien just to name three, I would be here for hours otherwise.
LBBB: Any fur-babies?
L.C.: I have two cats. I love my boys.
In the rare times that L. is not working to help others or maniacally writing, she enjoys making a mess of things while creating beautifully detailed greeting cards. She spends time relaxing with family, friends, and good books. L. loves to travel and has been to many places in the United Kingdom; her favorite places all involve the ocean. She hopes to one day share a kiss with her happily-ever-after in the romantic shadow of the Eiffel Tower. Should she ever get over her fear of flying, those kisses may be shared in the shadows of the Egyptian Pyramids.
Ever the fussy eater, L. has never once tasted peanut butter, and she despises coffee. If you should feel the need to bribe her, it is suggested that you bring chocolate, as that is one of her know weaknesses.
